Abstract

Building Blocks
Building Blocks began with an unexpected moment at a photo booth. A young boy kept returning to the camera, taking photograph after photograph, and somehow arriving each time with a completely new pose. His confidence, imagination, and seemingly endless creative energy immediately stood out.
That personality became the inspiration for transforming his portrait into something resembling a network of cells, pixels, or fragments of code. The image considers the countless building blocks that shape an individualDNA, family, environment, experience, influence, and the qualities that somehow remain uniquely our own.
The fragmented structure asks a simple question: what combination of people, places, experiences, and biology creates the person we eventually become?
Inspired by Building Blocks by Ambie, the piece is ultimately about potentialthe extraordinary complexity already forming inside a young life.

The Finger
The Finger began as a photograph from a commissioned band shoot, capturing the drummer in a spontaneous moment as he flipped off the camera.
The original photograph was pushed through layers of distortion, repetition, color, and abstraction until the musician nearly disappears into the composition. Faces, limbs, clothing, and fragments of the original scene collide and overlap, transforming a simple rebellious gesture into a dense field of movement and visual noise.
The title preserves the moment that started it all. Somewhere inside the chaos is the drummerand the finger that gave the piece its name.

I'm Holding You
Im Holding You is a piece built around something partially remembered and something deliberately hidden. The original photograph has been lost to memory, allowing the image itself to become an abstract world of color, texture, and fragmented forms.
Inspired by Weens Im Holding You, I hid a small doughboy-like figure within the composition, carrying a backpack and holding flowers. He is easy to overlook among the chaos, but that is part of the piecethe tenderness is there if you take the time to find it. Surrounded by an explosion of color and movement, the small figure turns the work into a quiet search for affection, innocence, and connection within disorder.

I Feel It Coming
I Feel It Coming transforms an intimate photograph between husband and wife into an abstract study of sexuality, connection, and physical energy. The original moment nearly disappears beneath layers of color and texture, leaving only fragmented traces of the bodies that created it.
What began as a private photograph becomes something less literaltwo forms dissolving into one another until the distinction between body, emotion, and abstraction becomes difficult to separate.
Created years before the relationship ended, the work captures intimacy without the knowledge of what would eventually follow. It preserves a moment exactly as it existed then: private, physical, immediate, and connected.

Twilight Omens
Twilight Omens explores the shifting boundary between good and evil through two familiar figuresthe cat and the dog. Across different cultures and beliefs, both animals have served as omens, guardians, spiritual guides, symbols of fortune, and warnings of darkness.
Emerging from an original photograph of flowers, the animals occupy opposing worlds of light and shadow, yet neither is assigned completely to one side. The distinction between good and evil becomes increasingly uncertain.
The piece reflects the duality of consciousness and the human tendency to assign meaning to the world around us. What one person sees as a warning, another may see as protection. What appears dark may not be evil, and what appears beautiful may not be good.
In the twilight between the two, certainty disappears.

Just
Photographed from the surface of a tabletop in Italy, Just transforms an ordinary decorative object into something almost unrecognizable. The original patterns, flowers, and imperfections of the table become an abstract landscape of bold color, texture, and fragmented forms.
Inspired by Radioheads Just, the piece is less about telling a specific story and more about changing the way something familiar is seen. What was simply part of the environment becomes the subject itselfan example of how texture, shape, color, and perspective can reveal something completely different when removed from their original context.

Prospecting
Prospecting began as a photograph of a flower and was transformed into an abstract study of color, texture, and movement. Explosive red and orange forms radiate outward from the center, pushing the original image beyond recognition while preserving the organic energy of its source.
